Syngenta Crop Protection AG, Switzerland ("Syngenta/We/Us") is the data controller for the Applicant Tracking System and is responsible for processing your personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act of 19 June 1992 (as amended) (the “DPA”) and any other applicable law.
Syngenta recognizes and respects the privacy of candidates and other users of this Applicant Tracking System with regard to personal information obtained through this Applicant Tracking System and through the background investigation described below.
We ask you to review our Personal Data Privacy Notice. After you indicate your acceptance of the terms of the Notice below and that you have read the statement by clicking "I Agree" at the bottom, you will have access to provide information on your experiences and preferences for the position you have selected, and/or complete a candidate profile. If you decide that you are not ready to submit your personal information to Syngenta, click "I Decline".
Syngenta may pass your information to other companies within the Syngenta group of companies ("Syngenta Group") – for example, if you have applied for a job with another Syngenta entity, your information will be shared with the Syngenta identity identified in the job posting as well as third parties who are acting on Syngenta’s behalf as part of the recruitment and hiring process. We will not disclose your data to any third party for the purposes of any direct marketing of products or services. What type of personal information do we collect?
When you apply for a position with Syngenta, we require some mandatory information and you may voluntarily provide us with additional personal information such as your physical address, telephone number, date of birth and other identifying data as well as your education and work history and references.
In addition, subject to your explicit consent, the Applicant Tracking System will ask you for your LinkedIn credentials in order to automatically gather your public profile data to build your profile as a candidate in the system. Those credentials are at no point stored in our system. If you have registered through LinkedIn with the same email address as the one in our Applicant Tracking System, then a Syngenta recruiter will be able to open directly your LinkedIn profile via our site and access your public profile information.
Unless allowed by local data protection laws we will not collect “sensitive data” in the meaning of the DPA: personal information about racial/ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union memberships, health, sexual life and the commission of offences and related proceedings.
How do we use this personal information?
We use the information you provide for recruiting and hiring purposes only.
If you are not successful, we may still keep your application to allow us to consider you for other suitable vacancies within the Syngenta Group in the future.
If we make you an offer, we will check the information you have provided:
- By contacting the references you nominate; and
- For certain jobs, by conducting a criminal background check. If this applies to a job for which you are applying, we will let you know this first.
If we wish to take up references we will seek your permission first.
We are an international company. We may transfer the information in this application form to the Netherlands, where the Applicant Tracking System is based. Wherever your personal information is transferred, stored or processed by us, we will take reasonable steps to safeguard the privacy of your personal information. Additionally, when using or disclosing personal information transferred from the European Union, we abide by the Safe Harbor Principles as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce, use standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission, adopt other means for ensuring adequate safeguards for your information, or obtain your consent to this transfer. As a result, your personal information may be accessible by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of foreign countries. If you wish to access written information about our policies and practices with respect to affiliates outside of your country of residence, or if you have any questions about the collection, use, disclosure of personal information by an affiliate outside of your country of residence, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
How long will we hold your information for?
Unless specified otherwise by local data protection laws, the information you submit will be held in accordance with this data privacy statement for a period of 24 months from your initial application. All data will be deleted after this time and you would need to resubmit should you wish to apply again.
